Hiring & AI Freelancing Simplified

Whether you’re posting an AI project or offering your AI Expertise, Cognowork makes the journey clear end-to-end.

How it works — Employers

Hire better, ship faster

A four-step flow that keeps your project clear, secure, and on track—from brief to delivery.

Step #01

Create or Select the Work

Post a Project
  • Create a new Project (from Create a Project) and choose fixed or hourly. For fixed, you can enable milestones; then add skills, languages, and how many freelancers you plan to hire. Save & Continue.
Or Book a Service (Task)
  • Open a freelancer’s Service/Task, pick a package (e.g., Basic/Silver/Gold), and click Hire me for a task. On the next screen, optionally add add-ons.
Proceed to payment

Pay with your wallet (if funded) or via standard checkout; after placing the order you’ll see the WooCommerce “Thank you” page. Service orders appear under Manage Tasks → My Tasks (and Orders for the freelancer).

Step #02

Evaluate & Hire

For Projects: review proposals

Freelancers Apply to this project and submit proposals (they can include milestones if you enabled them). You can View All Proposals, and freelancers may edit proposals until you accept.

Decide per proposal
  • Decline, start chat, or hire the freelancer; on hire you can pay via wallet (if funded) or continue to checkout.
For Services: manage the order

Inside the Service order you can chat, complete, cancel, or create a refund request. The freelancer can send revisions, make a final attempt, or open a dispute.

Step #03

Work & Track

Collaborate in activity threads

Use the task/project activity/communication thread to keep everything in one place while work is in progress. (If a task is canceled during a refund flow, the communication section closes.)

Milestones & hours

On Projects, the Work with milestones option shows to freelancers only if you enabled it at creation; otherwise it runs fixed or hourly as configured.

Multi-freelancer projects

When creating the Project, you can specify how many freelancers you intend to hire for that project.

Step #04

Complete, Pay & (if needed) Dispute

Mark complete & leave feedback

For Services, you can Complete (with or without feedback). For Projects, you can complete when the agreement is satisfied.

Refunds & disputes
  • Service: create a refund request; if declined by the freelancer, escalate to a dispute (admin decides).
  • Project: either party can raise a dispute; status changes to Disputed and admin arbitrates.
Outcomes & wallet rules

If freelancer wins, funds are credited to their account; if employer wins, money is credited to your wallet (non-withdrawable; usable for future purchases).

Easy Payment

Pay by wallet or checkout. Simple, secure, and reconciled to your orders.

User Review

Leave honest feedback and build a track record of great collaborators.

Communication

Centralized threads for scope, files, milestones, and approvals.

How it works — AI Experts

Do your best work with premium clients

Set up your offers, apply with confidence, deliver professionally, and get paid—securely and on time.

Step #01

Set Up Offers & Apply

Create a Service (Task)
  • Go to Create a Gig (or Manage Task → Create a Task). Fill Task Information (Task Type category), then Save & Continue. Add Packages (admin may allow 1 or 3), optional custom fields and add-ons, upload media, add FAQs, then submit.
Apply to Projects
  • Open a Project and click Apply to this project → enter your rate, choose milestones (only if employer enabled) or fixed, add a description, and Submit bid now.
Edit until accepted

You can edit your proposal multiple times until the employer accepts; employers can also edit project details pre-acceptance.

💡 Pro Tip: Customize your proposals for each project to increase acceptance rates.
Step #02

Engage & Align

Chat before hire

Employers can Start Chat from your proposal to clarify scope before hiring.

Service orders land in your dashboard

When a Service is purchased, you’ll see it under Manage Tasks → Orders; the employer sees it under My Tasks.

Keep comms inside the platform

Use the task/project activity thread. If a refund is initiated and the employer cancels during that flow, the communication section closes.

🔒 Security: All communications are logged and secure within the platform.
Step #03

Deliver Professionally

Follow package/add-on scope

Deliver per the selected Service package and any add-ons; use revisions or final attempt as needed within the order.

Milestones & hourly

For Projects, deliver against agreed milestones (if enabled by employer) or log work per hourly terms.

Document progress
  • Post versions and notes in activity so approvals and timelines are easy to trace (helpful if anything escalates).
📝 Best Practice: Regular updates build trust and prevent scope creep.
Step #04

Get Paid, Withdraw & (if needed) Dispute

Completion & funds

When the employer completes a Service or a Project is completed, funds settle to the appropriate account/wallet. For Services, completion can include feedback.

Withdrawals (your side)

Before withdrawing, set a payout method and details; submit a withdraw request when you have balance. Admin reviews, approves, and logs the transaction.

Disputes & results
  • If needed, create a Service dispute (or Project dispute). Admin messages both sides and decides the winner.
  • If you win, funds are credited to your account; if the employer wins, funds go to their wallet (non-withdrawable) for future purchases.
⚖️ Fair Process: All disputes are handled impartially with clear documentation.

Easy Payment

Secure settlements and clear payout records—no guesswork about your earnings.

User Reviews

Build reputation with verified feedback and attract repeat clients through trust.

Communication

Centralized threads for scope, files, milestones, and approvals—everything in one place.
